One Spicy Couple!

Table number 1, table number two, table number three….that’s boring, huh?  Serrano Table!!! Poblano Table!!! Cayenne Table!!!  Muy caliente, no?  I love it when couples opt to name their reception tables NOT numbers, especially if when they name their tables after peppers!.  It’s brings a little interest, keeps it thematic, makes things spicy; it’s perfect for a Santa Fe wedding!

I had the pleasure of breaking out the watercolors and creating a fun suite of pepper table names and illustration, fun, right?

This lovely wedding took place at the Hotel St. Francis, a charming spot for intimate nuptials.  The ceremony was al fresco, on the patio and we dressed up the wooden gates with a simple ivory swag and lovely floral clusters created by Artichokes and Pomegranates.

The bride and groom were so stoked for the fabulous mariachi band…and I’ll admit, I was singing along too- I LOVE mariachis!

Life, Instagramed

In honor of Facebook‘s recent acquisition of Instragram, I thought I throw out a little honorary post for y’all.  I was a late comer to the game, but I now realize that I FREAKING LOVE Instagram.  My preference is to tweet when it comes to social media, but when I can do it with pictures; especially as a visual person, Instagram is the tee-taas!

The best part about Instagram is that I can totally look like a semi-profesh photog with a lil’ ol’ iPhone.  Hello digital tilt-shift!  I also love that I can easily document my DIY projects and random pretties that pop along throughout my day.  For those of you that don’t already follow me on Instagram, here’s a little re-cap of the latest.

Up, Up and Away!

You’ve all heard the adage, First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage.  You’ll understand that here at the Hitching Post, not only are there weddings happening everywhere, but there are baby showers too!  I was lucky enough to create a fun hot-air balloon themed baby shower for twins, a boy AND a girl! Not just pink, not just blue, but both!

I was on cloud nine filling up giant helium balloons for my World’s Fair style hot air balloons. I crafted circle disk garlands (how-to here) and colorful paper rosettes for added punch.  The balloon baskets sat on little baby’s breath clouds, which couldn’t have been more appropriate for a baby shower!

Then, there was candy.

There were 80 guests so I made sure there was plenty on sugar to go around!  Our candy display had a variety of tooth-decay-inducing goodies like blue raspberry gummy bears, chocolate bars, puffy marshmallow poles, salt water taffy, gummy rings, chocolate bars….and cake!

I was just in love with the adorable (and coordinating) goodie bags from Shop Sweet Lulu.
